Leaving Atlanta

I’m sitting in the Atlanta Airport right now waiting to board my first transatlantic flight. I’m excited, but more than a little nervous. Not only am I going to a new country, I essentially am starting a new job this week. That’s a lot of change. In a way, I’ll be glad to be back at Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama in two weeks. I land tomorrow at 11:45 local time – that’s 5:45 EST. So that makes it about 1:00 a.m. (Monday) in Venice right now – it’s only 7:00 p.m. (Sunday) here. Boy, I’m going to be messed up this week!

If I haven’t mentioned this before, it is very important to have a good sponsor. Both my sponsor and his wife have been great and have helped out enormously. Without them, I’m sure I would have suffered greatly.
